Sony Pictures is poised to usher in a new era for the Karate Kid franchise, bridging multiple generations. Since its inception nearly four decades ago, followed by a reboot about 15 years past, and further expanded through the success of the Cobra Kai series, fans are eager for a fresh chapter.
This new installment is titled Karate Kid: Legends, and it aims to merge the original protagonist with the reboot's mentor alongside a promising newcomer. With filming now complete, the film is scheduled for release on May 30, 2025.
Sony has taken to social media to unveil the initial official poster, offering a glimpse of Ralph Macchio, the star of the original Karate Kid, alongside Jackie Chan, the embodiment of the reboot, and their apprentice, Ben Wang, all engaged in exciting action. To build anticipation, Karate Kid: Legends will feature a panel at New York Comic-Con shortly, commencing at 00:00 BST / 1:00 CEST on October 19. It’s highly likely that this event will provide the first opportunity to view the film's trailer, so keep an eye out for updates!
